Our Library

Our Library is the centre of learning for the school.

WE LOVE READING!

It is a vibrant and dynamic environment where students and teachers enjoy opportunities to borrow and read books each week.

During weekly library lessons, younger students participate in storytime, visual literacy lessons and borrow picture books and easy- reading information books to take home and share with family. Older students also have direct access to the adjacent computer lab for inquiry- based research. This is a very exciting initiative where students direct their own learning using information technologies, with the support of the teacher librarian.

The physical environment is ever-changing, with colourful displays and signage and a learning tree under which the children sit on bright and modern casual furniture.

At lunchtimes, children visit to play with toys and puppets, play chess games, draw, and listen to stories with our senior library monitors.

Each year, our library promotes the Premier's Reading Challenge and the annual Book Week parade where teachers and students dress up as a favourite book character.

The major fundraiser is our Book Fair,  which allows our library to buy more great books for your kids to read. We promote the quality work of our Australian Authors and Illustrators.

But top of the list is definitely promoting a life-long love of reading to our children -

Our motto is : 'The more we read, the better we become at reading.'
