Financial contributions and assistance

There are some costs associated with going to school that you may find it helpful to plan and budget for.

Costs to consider include:

  • uniforms

  • school books and equipment

  • excursions

  • co-curricular activities.

Voluntary school contributions

Like all NSW public schools, we can request contributions to enhance our educational and sporting programs including elective subjects. School contributions help provide additional educational resources for the benefit of students. Payment is voluntary.

For more information, visit the Voluntary School Contribution policy.

Financial assistance

If you are unable to pay school contributions because of financial hardship, you may be eligible for assistance from the school.

Our principal will ensure no student or family suffers any discrimination or embarrassment over the inability to pay school contributions.

If you require Student Assistance, please contact our office on 02 4443 4251 or via email stgeorgesb-p.school@det.nsw.edu.au for assistance.

Financial support is available to help eligible families with school related costs.

Centrelink Child Care Benefit
Families using outside of school hours care may be eligible to claim for this child care benefit to help with these costs.

Education Tax Refund
If you are eligible for the education tax refund you could claim up to 50% back on your child's education expenses.

A subsidy is also available for transport to and from a public transport pick up point in private vehicles, in areas where there is no public transport.

Assisted School Travel Program
